After thrilling more than 30,000 spectators during its tour of the stages, A Shy Light returns to Madrid in a unique event. The Infanta Isabel Theatre hosts the screening of the recording of this work created by Àfrica Alonso, allowing the public to rediscover one of the most outstanding stories of recent LGTBI+ theatre.
The piece tells the love story between Isabel and Carmen in a context marked by repression and silence, becoming a story about memory, resistance and the importance of making visible those lives that for too long remained hidden.
The screening will be accompanied by a subsequent colloquium with Àfrica Alonso, author of the work, moderated by David Velduque, creator of Sabor a Queer. A meeting that will allow us to delve into the creative process, the impact of the work and the validity of the stories it addresses.
This activity is part of the programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which celebrates its 20th edition by bringing proposals that vindicate memory, diversity and LGTBI+ culture to the public through different artistic disciplines.
