From June 5 to July 3, DLRO Live hosts a new exhibition by José Carlos Amariconarte within the Muestra•t program. The exhibition brings together a selection of works in which the artist addresses issues such as LGTBIQ+ identity, the resignification of insult, desire, emotional wounds and the collective construction of pride.
Their work, characterized by the use of symbolism, cultural references and double readings, connects with a tradition of shared codes that for decades allowed many people in the collective to recognize, express and protect themselves in contexts of invisibility and discrimination.
In this new creative stage, Amariconarte continues to develop its own artistic language that combines vindication, emotion and memory, inviting the public to reflect on the experiences that make up contemporary queer identities.
The exhibition is part of the programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which celebrates its 20th edition by promoting spaces where art becomes a tool for visibility, meeting and celebration of diversity.
