As part of the muestra-t Cultural Festival of Madrid Orgullo, the group exhibition Infancias Diversas: Memoria y Resiliencia (Diverse Childhoods: Memory and Resilience) opens in the heart of Madrid. An exhibition that invites to rethink the earliest stages of life from perspectives that move away from the norm, putting the focus on childhoods silenced, violated or made invisible by their gender, identity, expression or social context.
Curated by Franquearte, a platform dedicated to promoting emerging artistic projects, the exhibition proposes a symbolic and emotional journey where resilience, creativity and the affirmation of the self emerge as acts of resistance.
Five contemporary artists -RosaMaría Lecumberri, HHelena, Fluque, Pilar Quirós and Corina De Sousa-display plural views on childhood, ranging from the pain of bullying to the tenderness of reconciliation with the inner child. Acrylic paint, collage, graphite or experimental pigments such as coffee make up an accessible and powerful visual language, capable of dialoguing with diverse audiences and opening a necessary reflection on inclusion from the earliest ages.
Remembering childhood, especially from its margins, is not an exercise in nostalgia, but a political gesture. Because to name pain, fear and exclusion is also to vindicate the right to grow up in freedom, in diversity, in community.
Infancias Diversas: Memoria y Resiliencia is part of muestra-t, the cultural agenda of MADO Madrid Orgullo, a space that celebrates diversity through art and culture.
