On June 5, at 7:00 p.m., the Ana María Matute Municipal Library will host the presentation of the book Pedro Zerolo, vida y legado de un pionero por los derechos civiles, in which Miquel Ángel Fernández narrates the trajectory of one of the most influential and respected activists in the recent history of Spain. The event is organized by the Equality on Stage project, formed by the associations Objetivo 50/50, Las Secuoyas and Jóvenes Gigantes. This is an essential reading on the 20th anniversary of the approval of equal marriage, which reveals an extraordinary man who, with courage and passion, transformed the reality of thousands of people.

“From the presidency of the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals, Bisexuals, Intersexuals and more (FELGTBI+), to his crucial role in the approval of equal marriage and his tireless defense of the most vulnerable groups, Pedro Zerolo left an indelible mark on the history of Spain, helping to create a more inclusive and just country: a better society in which, at last, we could all fit. This biographical account is a memory shared in first person by those who accompanied him in his exciting adventure towards equality for more than twenty years, becoming an unparalleled testimony of his struggle for equality, his progressive thinking and his legacy as a defender of human and civil rights”.
