The renowned drag artist Sasha Velour arrives in Madrid with Travesty, her new stage production and one of the most anticipated shows of her European tour. After its premiere in Washington D.C., the artist presents a proposal that combines theater, performance, visual narrative and spectacular lip-sync numbers to cover queer stories that have remained hidden or silenced over time.

Through different characters, Travesty reconstructs episodes of resistance, transformation and survival, turning the stage into a space where queer memory comes to life. The show mixes humour, emotion, history and activism in an experience that invites the audience to reflect on the past and present of LGTBI+ communities.

Winner of the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Sasha Velour has established herself as one of the most influential figures in contemporary drag thanks to a career that unites visual art, fashion, activism and scenic creation. With Travesty, he once again demonstrates his ability to transform the stage into a place of celebration, reflection and pride.

This show is part of the programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which in its 20th edition continues to bring some of the most outstanding artistic proposals linked to diversity and LGTBI+ culture closer to the public.
