On June 9, Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes will host the arrival of the Sunflowers European Tour, a documentary bicycle trip of more than 6,000 kilometers linking Lisbon and Athens in 44 days, crossing 10 European countries. This initiative aims to make visible and promote the rights of LGTBIQ+ people within the framework of the social and solidarity economy.
The event will begin with the Spanish premiere of the award-winning documentary Todo lo que será, directed by Renato Chiocca and born of the Girasoli Tour 2021, which will be screened with Spanish subtitles. This will be followed by two panel discussions addressing key issues such as discrimination, inclusion and LGTBIQ+ leadership in the context of the social economy, with the participation of recognized voices from activism, politics and business.
Guest speakers include Paolo Rondelli, the first openly LGTBIQ+ head of state; Euprepio Padula, lawyer, political analyst and civil rights activist; and Eva Diaz, entrepreneur and writer and expert in inclusive leadership. In addition, the cooperative Utopia 2000 will present a case study on the accompaniment of a homoparental family during the adoption process, based on more than 25 years of experience in social intervention.
Organized by Com.It.Es Madrid in collaboration with Centro Cultural Sandro Pertini, Il Ceppo and Utopia 2000, this event is an invitation to rethink economic structures from a diversity and human rights perspective.
