We are all Orlando

The artist Lo Super explores identity, desire and kuir memory through collage in an exhibition inspired by the transformative figure of Orlando.
From May 27th to July 5th 2026

The exhibition We Are All Orlando presents the work of Lo Super, an artist who uses collage as a tool to reflect on the construction of identity, memory and the multiple forms of desire. Organized by Franquearte Vive el Arte and curated by Corina De Sousa, the exhibition brings together the series Las Orlando and Divinos Iconos, two projects that dialogue with dissident experiences and narratives that have remained outside traditional narratives.

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando and its contemporary reinterpretation by Paul B. Preciado, the exhibition takes Orlando as a symbol of transformation, transit and freedom. A character capable of crossing genres, eras and conventions, becoming a metaphor for identities that defy imposed limits.

The core of the exhibition is Las Orlando, an unprecedented series of intervened portraits that brings together real stories marked by processes of affirmation, transition, care and accompaniment. Through black and white photographs and collage resources, Lo Super creates images that inhabit an intermediate territory between archive and fiction, memory and the present, the intimate and the political.

The tour is completed with Divine Icons, a series that revisits figures from cinema and popular culture to propose new readings on representation, desire and visual memory. In these works, familiar images take on new meanings, revealing narratives and sensibilities that have often remained hidden behind dominant narratives.

Beyond an artistic technique, collage here becomes an affective and political language, a way of bringing together fragments, reconstructing stories and vindicating the diversity of experiences that make up contemporary reality. Each piece reminds us that identity, like images, is always in the process of transformation.

As part of the program, the artist will offer a special meeting and commented tour of the exhibition, sharing with the public the creative processes, references and stories that have shaped the characters of Las Orlando.

This exhibition is part of the official programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which celebrates its 20th edition by promoting spaces where contemporary art dialogues with diversity, memory and the different ways of living and expressing LGTBI+ identities.
