When We Meet Again brings together a selection of works by Jav Rubín that invite us to travel through a visual universe marked by sensitivity, colour and emotional intensity. Through illustration, the artist constructs images that move between the everyday and the symbolic, exploring what remains hidden beneath the surface of feelings.
With a style of markedly realistic character, his works enter territories where memory, desire and imagination are constantly in dialogue. The characters, the atmospheres and the chromatic contrasts generate scenes charged with a sophisticated sensuality that invites us to stop and observe beyond the obvious.
The exhibition proposes an intimate look at human emotions, bringing the viewer closer to spaces where dreams, desires and absences acquire a tangible presence. In each illustration, Jav Rubín transforms personal and universal experiences into images capable of connecting with those who contemplate them from emotion and memory.
The very title of the exhibition refers to the postponed meetings, to the stories that were suspended in time and to the words that were never spoken. From this idea, the exhibition becomes a visual reflection on the fragility, waiting and beauty of what remains alive in memory, even when it seems unattainable.
With a work that oscillates between the mystical and the profoundly human, Jav Rubín invites the audience to immerse themselves in a journey where the stroke becomes emotional language and each image opens a door to new interpretations.
This exhibition is part of the programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which celebrates twenty years of promoting spaces for artistic creation and the encounter between culture, diversity and LGTBI+ experiences.
