Between heaven and hell there is the Limbo Club, a place ruled by Salome, turned by history into a symbol of sin and transgression. Every week she presents her own particular late night show to the souls who have just arrived in the afterlife, until an unexpected guest alters the course of the night: Messalina, the most scandalous empress in ancient Rome.
From this meeting, Who Will Kill Messalina? poses a reflection as scathing as it is amusing on the historical stories that have turned certain women into archetypes of the femme fatale. A proposal that combines humour, irony and criticism to ask who builds the collective memory and what happens when the protagonists take the floor.
By making the audience part of the trial, the play invites us to rethink concepts such as desire, power and representation of women throughout history.
This performance is part of the programme of Muestra•t, the cultural festival of MADO Madrid Orgullo, which celebrates its 20th edition this year.
